Truly Stunning East Valley track and Field Championship Results

When looking at the results for this past weeks East Valley Track and Field championships, I am so proud of the accomplishments achieved by our athletes and I know that it is the result of the countless hours and dedication that they have put into their training and preparation and the great team support that they all show for one another. I am particularly proud of the accomplishments of the developing athletes in our group, who are really starting to come onto their own and showed it this past week.

• Athletes like Will Steiger, who really stepped it up and qualified for the provincial championship with a third place finish in the 3000m
• Athletes like Kamora Piper, who made big personal bests in each of her events and finished 4th in the East Valley at 3000m
• And athletes like Jayda Tielmann, who won her first East Valley Championship over 800m.

The results of our distance group as a whole were truly stunning. Fourteen athletes from our group will be representing the East Valley at the British Columbia High School Track and Field Championships, and nine of them were East Valley Champions in their events. Lucy Orr was Junior Girls Athlete of the Meet, Mason Acker was grade 8 boys Athlete of the Meet, Parks Siemens was junior boys Athlete of the Meet, and Adrianna Buitelaar and Gurpartap Sandhu were senior girls Athletes of the Meet both winning three events. East Valley Champions in their events were Samuel May, Maggie Epp, Riley Simmonds, Jayda Tielmann, Mason Acker, Parks Siemens, Lucy Orr, Gurpartap Sandhu, and Adrianna Buitelaar.
