Adrianna Buitelaar had an utterly fantastic meet at this past weekends Canadian Track and Field Championships in Ottawa Ontario. Despite very poor running conditions on Thursday Adrianna ran away from the field in the rain and wind to record a new Canadian Championships meet record and new BC U20 record in the 5000m of 16:27.02. In the 3000m on Sunday Adrianna once again came out on top running a devastating last 600m that no one in the extremely competitive field could match and recording a new personal best time of 9:19.29. in the process. Her double gold medal performance and smashing the World Championships Selection standard in the 3000m have earned her a spot on Team Canada for the upcoming World Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon this August. What a way to crown her high school years in a career that saw her win six National Championships for the Valley Royals.
